Apples!

We went to the apple orchard today. Unfortunatley, we were between picking dates. So we did not get the best apples, but the kids did not mind and we had fun. Neal was able to join us on this outing - we were so excited to have him with us! All of the children found a few apples to take home. Evelyn, just repeated the word "apples" the entire time we were there. After running through the orchard and picking a few decent apples, we went back to the cafe/bakery and had a snack. Madeline chose an apple brownie which was very good. On the way home, we went to McDonald's. The kids are now all napping after their fun family day. I think that I will join them!

We have such great memories from apple-picking days when Aubrey, Annie and I were young. Its a great family outing, and its nice to do something "fallish" for a change!

Sounds like a great time! You guys sure go on a lot of outings. That will make some great memories. And just think, instead of looking through old, cracked photo albums of childhood memories like we have to do, your kids will have a cool blog to read through. What a hip mom!

Fun! We bought apples this year when we went to Indiana to see family. But we weren't able to pick them ourselves...all the places we checked didn't do that. So we bought a bushel and brought them home. We made 4 1/2 gallons of applesauce and 2 pints of apple butter! That should last uf for quite a while....
